THE PAPERVILLE CITY
The Paperville City

Privacy policy.

Last updated 26 October 2026

This policy explains what information The Paperville City Publishing House (“Paperville”, “we”, “us”) collects through thepapervillecity.com, why we collect it, who sees it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain on purpose. If anything is unclear, write to hello@thepapervillecity.com.

1. What we collect

2. How we use it

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Who handles your information

We use trusted services to run the site. They process information only to provide their service to us:

Some of these services are based outside Nigeria, so your information may be processed in other countries. We only share what is needed, and we may also share information if the law requires it.

4. Letters and the people who receive them

Our letters service lets you send a letter to someone you care about. To do this we keep the details you give us about that person (their name, and the email address or postal address we will use) and the content of the letter, and we use them only to prepare and deliver that letter. A member of our team reads each letter before it is sent. We do not add the recipient to any mailing list, and we do not contact them for any other reason.

You should only give us details of someone you know and who would reasonably expect to hear from you. If you are the person a letter was sent to and you do not want to receive any more, visit thepapervillecity.com/stop or email hello@thepapervillecity.com and we will stop straight away and keep your address only to make sure we do not write again.

5. Cookies and similar storage

We use your browser’s local storage to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics later, we will update this page.

6. How long we keep it

We keep account information while your account is open. Order records are kept for as long as needed for our accounting and legal obligations. Manuscripts and messages are kept while we are considering or working on them, then removed on request unless we have agreed to publish.

7. Your rights

You may ask us to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop emailing you. Email hello@thepapervillecity.com from the address on your account and we will respond promptly. We handle personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. You also have the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

8. Security

The site is served over HTTPS, passwords are never stored in plain text, and each member can only see their own information. No system is perfectly secure, so please choose a strong password and keep it private.

9. Children

Our accounts and shop are intended for adults and for children only with a parent or guardian’s help. If you believe a child has given us information without permission, tell us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be announced on the site or by email.
